Back Pain Treatment Palm Beach

★★★★★ 4.9 from 80 Google reviews

Back pain has a way of taking over. The morning routine slows down. Lifting the kids hurts. Sitting at work becomes unbearable by mid-afternoon. If that sounds familiar, you're not on your own — back pain is one of the most common reasons people come to see us.

What is back pain?

Back pain can show up in dozens of different ways. Sometimes it's a sharp catch in your lower back when you bend or twist. Sometimes it's a constant dull ache that won't shift. Sometimes it travels — into the hip, down the leg, around to the front. The pain can come on suddenly (often after lifting, sitting too long, or sleeping awkwardly) or build up gradually over weeks or months.

Most back pain is mechanical — meaning it relates to how your spine, muscles, joints and nerves are moving and working together. Disc issues, joint stiffness, muscle imbalance, posture, old injuries that haven't fully recovered — these are the things we look at every day at the clinic.

How chiropractic care can help

We start by figuring out what's actually going on. That means a thorough examination — looking at how your spine is moving, where the restricted areas are, and which structures are likely involved. We may recommend X-rays from South Coast Radiology next door if it's needed to plan your care properly.

From there, we tailor treatment to you. That might be hands-on adjusting techniques (Diversified, Gonstead, SOT, Thompson Drop), gentle low-force options (Activator, drop-table), soft tissue work to release tight muscles, or rehabilitation exercises you can do at home. Most patients have a treatment plan that combines a few of these approaches — we adjust as you progress.

Why Palm Beach Chiropractic

Dr Paul Cater has been practising chiropractic for over 20 years and trained alongside leading European sports chiropractors. Dr James Shipway has over 14 years of experience and a particular interest in active patients. Between them, they've seen pretty much every kind of back pain you can think of — and they'll explain what's going on with yours in plain English.

Chiropractic care is generally well tolerated. As with any healthcare, adverse reactions are possible — your chiropractor will discuss this with you before treatment begins. Results vary between individuals.

Areas we service

We see locals from across the southern Gold Coast — including Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Elanora, Tugun, and Currumbin.
