Extremity Pain — Arms, Legs, Hands, Feet
Chiropractic isn't just about the spine. The arms, legs, hands, feet, knees, elbows and wrists all have joints, muscles and nerves that can get restricted, irritated or injured — and they can respond to chiropractic care in a similar way to the spine.
What is extremity pain?
Common extremity issues we see: knee pain (often related to hip or ankle mechanics), shoulder pain (rotator cuff issues, restricted shoulder joints, referred from the neck), elbow pain (tennis or golfer's elbow, wrist tightness), hand and wrist issues (carpal tunnel-type symptoms, thumb pain, RSI), foot and ankle pain (plantar issues, restricted ankle joints, fallen arches), and hip pain.
A lot of extremity pain has a chain reaction quality. Knee pain might come from a tight hip. Shoulder pain might come from a stiff thoracic spine. Wrist pain might come from poor elbow or shoulder mechanics. So we always look at the whole chain, not just the part that hurts.
How chiropractic care can help
We assess the painful joint plus everything connected to it — the joint above, the joint below, the muscles, and the relevant nerves. We figure out what's actually contributing to the pain and put together a plan that addresses the cause, not just the symptom.
Treatment can include extremity adjustments (yes, you can adjust a wrist, ankle, knee, shoulder), soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, dry needling, and rehabilitation exercises. Our chiropractors are trained in extremity adjusting — it's an everyday part of what we do.
Why Palm Beach Chiropractic
Many people don't realise chiropractors treat extremities. Both Dr Paul and Dr James do — and Paul's sports chiropractic background means he's worked with everything from runners' knees to golfers' elbows to surfers' shoulders.
Areas we service
We see locals from across the southern Gold Coast — including Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Elanora, Tugun, and Currumbin.
